2011 camping & playing at a friend's baptism
Brad grew up in various parts of Washington State, eventually went to WSU where he met his wife, did an archaeological dig in Hell's Canyon ID, started a band with some friends in Seattle, got married, became a music director for a couple of consecutive church plants, began raising kids, remodeled some houses, and played on a Blackjack team for a couple of years before moving to Evergreen, CO.

He moved to Seattle after college in '92 where some he and some friends started a band.  They played in bars and clubs for several years, watching the rise of Grunge.  The band was edgy, but more pop than anything else.  His wife did some undergrad studies in art and he became a music director for a new organization called Mars Hill.  After 10 years in Seattle, with 2 kids, they moved 5 minutes from Hood River, OR where Brad worked construction and became a music director for a place called CRUX.  After 4 years there, and 2 more kids,  he began forming bands to raise financial support for missions.

The money raised would be used to free sex slaves and support them in their recovery.  To further pursue this new endeavor, they moved back to Brad's hometown of Tacoma with their, now 4 kids.  Brad spent most of his time in construction and playing in various bands raising support, while Devonna spent her time teaching kids art, and caring for their own kids.  The most important thing they learned during that season of their lives, was to slow down and begin listening to God's spirit.  They were done with trying to be "successful" in life.  Their new mode of operation was to rest, to listen, and follow.  Their family picked up and moved to Evergreen, CO in 2010 believing that they were lead there.   Devonna became employed by a church plant as a children's pastor.  Brad began more construction, and recording original music to ancient psalms and prayers - leaning towards much more contemplative music than he had recorded in the past.

They spent the following  summer of 2011 in Washington.  During that time, Devonna flew back to CO and applied for a job teaching art at a Montessori school in Golden with a friend who had also moved from Washington.   In Evergreen, Brad did odd construction jobs here and there to make money, and to trade for studio time.  After coming back to Colorado at the end of the summer, he continued with construction, and recording music on the weekends.  The funnest part of recording for Brad is to hear his wife and kids sing on his albums, and working with his son to co-produce and play music.  In the summer of 2013, they moved back to Tacoma. The're not sure what's next, but believe it involves worship and discipleship.  And, they're also looking forward to more camping in Washington and all over this beautiful country.
